A Work In Progress

I've started a present for a special someone and am a little lost as to how to complete it, and thought you'd all have some fabulous ideas for me! :)

Its a 9cm x 9cm wooden block and I've covered all four sides with a photo of the kids and my husband and I. I love the effect of the four sides, but have put DSP paper on the top and had thought to put a flower on the top - but it looks a little bit like a muffin and I'm not sure I like the introduction of the colour against the black and white photos. I love the rawness of the wood and black and white images...

What do you think...

I'd like to get some rub-on's to put over the photo's but am stumped as to what to do to the top, if anything?

Can't wait to hear your ideas - I'm sure they'll be the perfect solution...

Thanks for your help!

I think it looks very elegant as it is. But I can see that adding something to that blue face would finish it nicely... What about using a writing a special little message to the receiver,or the date or something like that? It doesn't add dimension but do you think it could work?

Love the idea of a message on top. However, if doing that I'd get rid of the blue and stick with black and white only.

My only other suggestion is do nothing, it looks pretty terrific as is to be honest.

Adele, I really like it just the way it is. Very effective. You have such a creative flair, I wish it would rub off on me :) xo

I agree about maybe sticking with black and white. There isn't anything else to tie in the blue. I think it would look funny to put something on top too! Maybe just some pearl/diamonte embellishments randomly on some sides or something? Just to add a little interest. Otherwise it's lovely simple!

Hi, visiting your blog for the first time...I think you should just add two more photos: top and bottom, that way it can be rotated to any side and some small black/white rub ons on some of the photos would look good too! Great idea, I might have to CASE this one :)
