More Fabulous Paper Flowers

So as you can see I really really like making these paper flowers (this tutorial is awesome!)
I made a couple of these cards in one sitting to give away on Valentines day - so quick and easy and mindless (the kind of crafting I REALLY enjoy!), and I have to say I LOVE Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette together, really really like...

Only one tiny bit of stamping (the sentiment) but still crafty?

Hostess Sets

So this is a card I made for a friends birthday card. I really really love this set (Organic Grace) and saved for months to be able to qualify for the hostess gifts. I should have done the smart thing though and hosted a workshop myself!!! Its so easy to do, hardly any effort for the hostess - all you have to do is invite your friends and clear the table and we do the rest. Don't you think getting one of these adorable exclusive hostess gifts is worth it? I sure do...hehehe.

The flower and dragonfly image have been inked up in Baja Breeze and then rolled in Close to Cocoa. I got the inspiration for this card from the lovely Marelle Taylor, another blog that I check every couple of days - love love love her stuff too!!! Pretty quick to make, but I still really like it. Hope you do too!!!

Sale-a-bration

So it was this time last year that I was first introduced to Stampin Up - I fell in love with all those FREE sets you can get, and once again - I am in love!!! hehehe. I really really like the Sale-a-bration sets this year so it was time to get some out to play with them. This was a really quick one to whip up, hardly any time at all - and yes, the roof of my house is a bit skew-iff (maybe the house too actually) but that just gives it character right??

Flight of the Butterfly

So this is another stamp set I requested in my starter kit and I have to say, once again - I LOVE IT!!! I really really like the little butterfly and the big butterfly and the floral butterfly and the spotty butterfly and the outline butterfly...actually - I like ALL of it! And as you'll see in this post I've used it quite a bit already...

This card was an adaption from a card of Kirsty Brown's (yes, AGAIN) that I actually made at a class last year by the fabulous Sarah Ven den Berg This one is no where near as stunning as the original but I'm still pretty happy with the end result!

So while I had Flight of the Butterfly out I thought I should have a go at doing something with some different colour combo's...and this is what happened!


So not necessarily one of my favourites and still very similar to the layout of the first but different enough that I could feel I'd stepped outside my normally boundaries?

I actually really like this one - though I'm not sure if its just because I LOVE Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze together. I've used White Stazon stamped onto acetate for the top layer of the butterfly and was cursing because I really really needed the butterfly punch (you may notice there is no outline on the spotty butterfly image - so I was literally cutting it blind!) and I really like the effect though you may not be able to pick it up in the photo?
Again, I've used that lovely leaf image from Petal Pizzaz with versa mark on the Baja Breeze CS as well as on the Whisper White panel.

Birthday Boy

So we had an awesome day today celebrating West's 3rd birthday with all his little friends at this awesome public pool in Newmarket - slides galore for the kids to go nuts on, and nuts they did go! It was so nice to have so many of West's friends there - I seriously appreciated the effort from everyone to come and feel so grateful to know such truly wonderful people and for my kids to have such wonderful friends and influences in their lives! We love you guys!!!

This is a picture of Madson and West in our yard - I love it when they're such loving brothers to each other! I was actually trying to take photo's of my cards but when Madson saw the camera out he insisted I take a shot of him and his little brother - love you boys!!!

More Petal Pizzaz

So this creation was inspired by the fabulous and fantastic Kirsty Brown - I absolutley LOVE her cards and use hers as inspiration for lots of mine - you can't help but be inspired when you look at her creations - GORGEOUS!

So its a Pale Plum base with a strip of Perfect Plum that's been punched along the bottom using the Eyelet border punch (LOVE IT), then a strip of Whisper White which has the sentiment from Flight of the Butterfly stamped on it, and then once again the Petal Pizzaz flowers layerd with leaves and the curly paper bits (also inspired from Kirsty!). The leaf stamp is once again versa marked in the background! Ohh, and how could I forget - I've covered the large flower image in two way glue and sprinkled the lovely dazzling diamonds all over it. Loving it!

Petal Pizzaz

So this is a creation I whipped up when I recieved the fabulous Petal Pizzaz stamp set in my Stampin' Up! Starter Kit...loving this stamp set. I love the big bold images and especially the leaf stamp (as you'll see - I've used this leaf stamp in lots of my cards!).

Its a Kiwi Kiss base with a layer of distressed Pink Pirouette and a layer of distressed Riding Hood Red with the different flowers from the set layered on top of each other. I've used some small strips of Pink Pirouette rolled around a pencil and the twisty bits and stamped my sentiment in white, finished with a little bit of paper piercing (another of my all-time favourite techniques!)

I've also shown you a shot of the inside of the card - a little finishing touch I picked up from Teneale Williams who makes her card inners just as amazing as her card outers! Mine might not be quite as elaborate or pretty but I still like the effect...xxx

Soft Summer

So this is another gift set that I made - its actually an A2 card box (you can find the tutorial on he Splitcoast Stampers website here) and I've used clear acetate as the lid.


The card is a piece of More Mustard with layered pieces of Kiwi Kiss CS (cardstock) and DSP. I've used the Soft Summer stamp set from the Spring mini which I really really love but haven't used as much as I'd like...

I've also used the Oval All stamp set for the sentiment with the scallop oval punch (also from the spring mini which is no longer available - boo hoo!).

I stamped the main image in Chocolate Chip ink and then used my blender pens to colour in using Cameo Coral and Ruby Red as well as Kiwi Kiss and Old Olive. I have also versa marked the main image on the piece of More Mustard - I really really liked this effect...its a great stamp to use with versa mark...xxx

Fabulous Flowers

So onto the exciting part...the STUFF!!!!! This first is probably my favourite set of cards I have ever made...I love the Pink Pirouette and the softness that's balanced by the Kiwi Kiss and of course the absolutley delicious flowers from Amy Waters which I've also seen on Dawn McVey's site but can't find the actual link to (check out ALL her stuff - its amazing!!!) Amy actually has a great tutorial for making these flowers and I think they are just gorgeous and really really simple so make sure you check it out...

So this is a little set of 4 cards with matching envelopes (made by cutting down a closed Stampin Up envelope and adding a piece of DSP to create the flap - love love love making these envelopes to match my card!). The box is actually the piece of white cardboard that's slipped into the back of the packs of DSP (Designer Series Paper) and its really nice and thick and sturdy for making boxes. The box is actually an origami box (just type origami box into a search engine and you'll find a tutorial - super super easy, no cutting of sticking just folding) and then I've used a piece of Kiwi Kiss cardstock covered with a strip of Kiwi Kiss DSP as the handle. The gorgeous little buttons have just been attached using Mini Glue Dots - my new love - normally I would attach bottons with a glob of Pritt but I LOVE using these glue dots! Super strong and super easy!

First Post!!!

YAY!!!! Finally...a first blog post!!!! I set this blog up about 2 weeks ago now and have been waiting to get a camera so I could post some photo's and finally succeeded in borrowing my sister's so....here we are!!!!

My friend Lisa and I have just joined Stampin' Up! and are SOOO in love with ALL the products! My wishlist is sooo long but I am just loving being a Independent Demonstrator (so far - we've only held one workshop) and getting to play with the best products ever!!! And I have to say how grateful I am for all the dedicated 'bloggers' out there - I read so many blogs that inspire me so much - so thank you to all you wonderful stampers!

So yes, as I mentioned we held our first workshop last Friday night for my little sister's birthday and despite a few nerves it was so much fun! Everyone was so lovely and we didn't have any disasters - just really enjoyed ourselves!

We took along pretty much everything we've made over the past couple of months that we haven't yet given away, so I will be doing individual posts of most of these items!

We sold quite a few catalgoues and booked 4 parties which is ultra exciting...lots of chances to polish our event! Can't love Stampin' Up! enough....:)
